Lancope Names Chris Hovis Vice President of Marketing and Business Development

-Industry Veteran to Manage Strategic Growth of Lancope in the Network Security Industry-

ATLANTA, Ga., June 18, 2003 - Lancope, Inc., the leading provider of Advanced Threat Protection solutions, today announced that Chris Hovis has been named vice president of marketing and business development. In addition to his prior product marketing responsibilities, Hovis will lead the execution of Lancope's strategic marketing plan and establish key partnerships and alliances. Marci McCarthy, director of marketing, will continue working with Hovis to drive implementation of all marketing initiatives.

Before joining Lancope, Hovis was a principal with CQ Partners, where he provided financial and industry analysis of the security, infrastructure and enterprise software industries. Previously he served as an equity research analyst with SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, where he was an early identifier of the emerging need for Internet Security and launched a research franchise covering Internet Security and Infrastructure in 1999. He received recognition from multiple leading institutional investors for his research efforts. In addition, Hovis also served as business unit analyst in the Emerging Products Group with IBM Corporation (NYSE: IBM), lead software engineer in the Multimedia Systems Group with Alliance Semiconductor (NASDAQ: ALSC) and software engineer in the Microprocessor Group with Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC).

Hovis received an MBA with Distinction from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He also earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with highest honors from Georgia Tech and graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Physics from Centre College.
